Stages voted "Outstanding Agency"

We would like you to know that STAGES has been voted as the “OUTSTANDING AGENCY” by one of our Austrian Colleges.

Students from the college took part in Work Experience Programmes in a variety of locations including Dublin, London, Oxford, Malta, Madrid, Seville and Rotterdam as well as through STAGES in Brighton.

The college asked the participants for detailed feedback on their return to Austria, and STAGES came out top for matching students to work they wanted, overall satisfaction with the work placement and overall satisfaction with the whole experience, also scoring very highly for accommodation. Their report concludes: “Overall Stages, Brighton was identified in our survey as being the outstanding agency in 2019….Given that it also received the equal highest number of participants, this is really exceptional.”

Brighton Fringe Festival

May is the month of the Brighton Festival, a fantastic time to be here. There are so many events and performances going on at so many different venues across the city, both as part of the main festival and the brilliant Fringe.

Our very own Hannah Brackenbury, winner of the Best of the Fringe Award for 2018 and Stages admin supremo, is back performing her brand new show, All Things Brighton Beautiful. We are all very proud of her - you can check out the star in our midst at

Our visit to Westminster

On 27th March Jeanette Felton and Rebecca Harrison from Stages attended the Parliamentary Review reception at the Houses of Parliament. It was an amazing experience to see inside the historic Palace of Westminster, and we felt very privileged as we stood on the terrace overlooking the river, watching as twilight turned to darkness and the lights came on along the south bank.

The chance to meet people from many different businesses based all over the UK, to talk about Brexit (of course) and how it is affecting everyone, but most of all to be there at such a momentous time was a fantastic opportunity.

Stages feature in the Parliamentary Review

The Parliamentary Review, which is jointly chaired by Lord Pickles and Lord Blunkett, seeks to provide a platform for organisations and individuals to discuss their successes, failures and the challenges that lie ahead. As such, it is an invaluable resource for established businesses, budding entrepreneurs and policymakers alike.

Jeanette Felton, the Managing Director of Stages Ltd, has been arranging work experience programmes in the Brighton area for EU students for almost 20 years. She discusses Stages more widely and the uncertainty they currently face in this year's Review.

A variety of Education Services providers step up alongside Prime Minister Theresa May and Education Secretary Damien Hinds to offer insight into the current climate in UK education. We also discuss improving GCSE results, synthetic phonetics and reforming vocational qualifications.

The co-chairman of The Parliamentary Review, Lord Pickles, has praised the upcoming Review as one of the most comprehensive yet. He commented that as Britain undergoes changes, it is "essential that politicians have a firm understanding of the challenges with which British organisations must contend" and that The Review once again provides a perfect platform for this.

Writing in The Review, the prime minister says that "British politics provides ample material for analysis in the pages of The Parliamentary Review."
